SCNA Annual Meeting
2024 Annual Meeting Update as of 7/24/2024
The Annual Meeting of SCNA will take place on October 17, 2024 at 5:45PM. The meeting will take place at the Hilton Myrtle Beach in Spartanburg, SC. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. There is no cost to attend the Annual Meeting. Actions of the Annual Meeting will include the annual reports to the membership of the Board of Directors of SCNA and the announcement of the 2024 election results. All SCNA/ANA and SCNA-Only members who meet the qualification to vote and are in attendance at the Annual Meeting may vote during that meeting. There is no proxy voting. The qualification is membership in SCNA/ANA or SCNA-Only as of October 16, 2024, and continue to hold membership after that date.
Resolutions The official call for resolutions was made in January issue of the SC Nurse. Resolutions must have been received by May 1, 2024. To date not one has been received. There is a process for the presentation of Resolutions during the Annual Meeting. This process includes any Resolutions not previously forwarded to SCNA. The full explanation of the process may be found in the Standing Rules in the Annual Book of Reports. The Annual Book of Reports will be posted to the SCNA website no later than October 1, 2024. Copies of The Annual Book of Report will be provided to attendees in digital format.
Proposed Bylaw Changes The official call for proposed bylaw changes was made in January issue of the SC Nurse. Proposed changes must have been received by May 1, 2024. To date not one has been received. There is a process that allows for proposed changes to be presented during the Annual Meeting. Bylaws may be amended without previous notice at any Annual Membership Meeting by ninety-nine percent (99%) of those present and voting.

Bylaws The SCNA Bylaws is the governing document for the South Carolina Nurses Association. A copy of the current Bylaws, last revised by action of the 2020 SCNA Special Called Membership Meeting, can be downloaded by clicking here. SCNA bylaws revisions for consideration at the next SCNA Annual Meeting can be mailed to SCNA Bylaws Committee, 1301 Gervais Street; Suite 802, Columbia, SC 29201 or emailed to info@scnurses.org. All proposed revisions must be submitted to SCNA by May 1 of each year.
