South Carolina Nurses Association (SCNA) is working with RPP, South Carolina Labor Licensing and Regulation (SC LLR), and other entities to revitalize this group to begin serving nurses dealing with addiction in 2024. Group leaders are needed to facilitate the virtual group. Recovering nurses interested in becoming a group leader should see the requirements below. Nurses interested in becoming a group facilitator should call the SCNA office,  (803) 252-4781,  or email sherry.james@hgtc.edu for more information.

 

Are you interested in being a PAPIN GROUP LEADER/FACILITATOR? 

 

Requirements/qualifications for consideration of nomination:

  • Active membership in South Carolina Nurses Association
  • Submit a current resume/curriculum vitae
  • Submit two professional letters of reference
  • Must hold an active SC nursing license with no current discipline (May apply if they have fulfilled a prior Board order and are active in recovery)
  • If active in any type of recovery program, must have continuous recovery for a period of no less than 3 years
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders and the process of recovery are desirable

 

Complete the PAPIN GROUP LEADER/FACILITATOR nomination form which requires a copy of your resume/curriculum vitae and two professional letters of reference are to be submitted to SCNA for review and selection.

 

Peer Assistance Program in Nursing (PAPIN) is a support group for nurses with substance use disorders. It collaborates with the Recovering Professionals Program (RPP) assisting nurses in getting their professional and personal lives back on track to sustain the recovery abilities of nurse participants across South Carolina.
