Clinical Nurse Leader Chapter

It is with pleasure to announce that the South Carolina Nurses Association has approved the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) Chapter. To highlight the Clinical Nurse Leader: The CNL role was developed in 2003 by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) to decrease fragmentation in healthcare (www.aacn.nche.edu/CNL ). Prepared at the master’s level, the CNLs provide efficient and cost-effective patient care services as well as the leadership needed to repair fragmented care delivery across settings. Clinical Nurse Leaders provide lateral integration at the point of care and combine evidence-based practice with:

·         Microsystems-level Advocacy

·         Centralized Care Coordination

·         Outcomes Measurement

·         Risk Assessment

·         Quality Improvement

·         Interprofessional Communication

Please consider joining our new CNL Chapter if you are a staff nurse, preceptor of a CNL student, interested in the CNL role and want to be a member of a fantastic chapter! For information concerning the role of the CNL please visit www.aacn.nche.edu/CNL
