All members of SCNA are eligible to join any of the Chapters featuring practice areas. There is no additional fee to join any Chapter. Contact Rosie Robinson at rosie@scnurses.org to join, or fill out the consent to participate form that is located in the members only section of our website.
All members of the South Carolina Nurses Association (SCNA) who are interested in the improvement and advancement of community health nursing and request to join the Community/Public Health Chapter. Our purpose is to improve and advance the profession of nursing in community health and support issues that will promote and protect the health of the Public. The Community/Public Health Chapter will be partnering in the upcoming year with the South Carolina Public Health Association, the USC Center for Public Health Preparedness, and other community partners. We plan to deliver interesting and affordable Continuing Education that will prepare nurses to respond effectively to disasters. We invite all interested colleagues to consider joining our dynamic group!

The Community/Public Health Chapter will continue its activities in the area of Disaster Nursing education for community-based nurses this year with three offerings around the state. The Chapter partners with the USC Center for Public Health Preparedness to offer a one-day workshop, “Nurses’ Roles in Mass Casualty Events”. Tentative dates for future workshops are April 11th and 12th for Greenville. Nursing contact hours will be awarded. Registration fee is $30.00, $25.00 for SCNA members, and $15.00 for students.
